Since, apparently, we're going to be attacked by the greatest Dark wizard to exist on Sunday, perhaps you would not be adverse to checking in on Monday so I we can exchange stories. Also, you are a better teacher than Camilla Greengrass, whom Tiberius has me practising with. Yes, it is a compliment.

I froze. For that split second where I should have thrown a hex at them, or that I should have put up a defensive spell, I froze. If
If instead of a hex, the Austrian had thrown the Killing Curse, then I would be dead. It feels -- I don't know how to explain this emotion -- but I'd be dead and Ernestine would no longer have a sister, my parents would then have lost two children.
After all that training, I didn't think that I would hesitate. I suppose it was because my guard was down, being in the company of my group, especially with Tiberius there.. I was probably more comfortable than I should have been. I should have expected that the Austrians would have a reconnaissance group there also. There's so many things that I should have done but didn't.
Next time it will be different. I will be ready. If it's -- when it's me or them, it will have to be them. I cannot die. I cannot leave Ernestine here alone.

Hello Professor Flitwick,
First of all, I would like to say that if you weren't beside me when the Austrians attacked, I don't think I would have had the same amount of confidence I had. I keep replaying the fights over in the head and I realise that I did not feel too terrified, nor did I freeze. There were times that I was afraid but perhaps that's why it's best to have unity within the camp, so that you can trust the person you are fighting alongside with.

Secondly, I have been speaking with Tiberius, who will undoubtedly never rest if I did not pursue his curiosity on a matter, and he has his ideas regarding Apparating. With the closest camp 76 km away, he calculated that walking 3km/hr would take over 25 hours. Apparating at 150m each time would take a little over 506 trips (76000/150) if the limit extends to that point.
When we were fighting the Austrians and they began to retreat, some ran and some Apparated. Perhaps the Apparating restriction only applies to us and not to the Austrians. Tiberius said that Professor Slughorn tested the water supply earlier but it may still be a possibility that the water supply has been poisoned, or even our food.
Tiberius thought it would be best to ask you how we can be limited and if the Austrians can break down our wards, perhaps we can break down our Apparating limitations.
Basically, if we can confirm that the Austrians Apparated further than we have been able to, then how could our Apparating be limited? Is it a ward or are we being poisoned through digestive (or perhaps even airbourne around this area) means? And what can we do to fix it?

Why can I not cry? My heart is insufferable, my chest feels like it's caving in. My emotions feel like a hurricane inside but at the same time, I feel stoic and emotionless.
I cannot help but think what if? What if Xenia and I were still on good terms and she had practised her defensive spells or even some offensive ones. Would she still be alive? What if certain members of Society were able to hold their tongues just for another week, would things be different? Would Xenia be beside me now?
I cannot even think about who could be next, my heart aches. I constantly feel out of breath. If anything happened to Ernestine --
I don't think I'm too bad at defensive or offensive attacks. Perhaps I ought to learn more -- Would I be better off in Active Duty? Gwen said that I would be well suited and she wouldn't lie. Not to me. It would be somewhere where I can actually do something on the offensive as opposed to always needing to defend. If that means Ernestine's life would be saved, Walburga's, or Tiberius'.. perhaps it would be worth it.
I will not lose anyone else. I refuse. Refuse.

Digging and warding may be important, but even moreso are your lives. There are a few spells and charms that I think should be the most helpful when if the Austrians invade:Protego → The Shield Charm, a basic. I wouldn't recommend solely depending on this but it's a charm that should be instinctive. We could practice this by tossing rocks to represent hexes and deflecting them.
Expelliarmus → The Disarming Spell. Disarming your opponent should allow you a valuable extra few seconds that can give you time to run away or use an offensive spell such as..
Stupefy → The Stunning Spell. If done correctly, your opponent should go unconscious. I'm not too sure how we would practise this, I will look further into it. Perhaps you could try this on me as I deflect it with Protego.
Confringo → The Blasting Curse. While you could use this for offensive tactics, you can use this for defensive tactics, such as using it as a distraction.
Disillusionment Charm → This one is tricky but if all of the other spells and charms are going well, we should work on this. It would definitely come in handy, even if you aren't able to perfectly cast it. It will be better than nothing at all. I was going to practice with Walburga tomorrow at four in the afternoon. You are all welcome to join us. Rather, I would prefer it so that I know you can all at least manage these spells that could save your life.

Tiberius and I have completed making our Protean Charms and they will be distributed around free time after tea. It would be our way of alerting each other of danger. Our charms will take the form of a button, which was kindly provided by Phineas. When there is an alert, the button will grow warm. When you see or feel a cross-hatching design on them (#), it would mean that there is danger and you should follow the established procedures. I say 'feel' because the designs will be raised so we won't be sticking our wands into our sleeves in the dark to see the pattern. When everything is clear for the time being, it will be a circle (O). The coordinates for where the second group should join the first will also show up; Flitw Professor Flitwick will give us the coordinates which will be triangulated by Professor Euler. As previous discussed, there will a safety ideal location for us to meet up in case of danger, as well as a back-up in the case that the first location is anti-Disapparation jinxed. As for establishing how, precisely, we should check in, we should further figure this out in this entry.
The button is to be sewn into the sleeves of the robe you're wearing, or perhaps your shirt, it that is more efficient for you. If you need help with sewing them on, Phineas and I will be more than happy to do so.
Also, when all the buttons are properly distributed, we ought to meet up and test them out so that we are used to them. It shouldn't be something that we are worried about and constantly checking, it should feel natural. And in order for us to be comfortable with them, we ought to test them out to get used to the design and heat.

I wish to speak about something with you. I am at a personal conflict and I was wondering if you would be able to give me your opinion. If you rather not answer, then it is acceptable and I hope do you not think less of me.
Tiberius and I have continued to keep in touch past graduation, although this is not the focus of the topic. Rather, it is about his closest friend, Arsenius, the boy that apparently Olive home to meet her family. Where I feel conflicted is that Olive is clearly to blame for dating a muggleborn, yet I do not feel any discord with Jiggle. There is really nothing wrong with him other than his blood, or perhaps I am justifying.. Is this wrong of me?
Also, I hope that you and your family are safe. How has your summer been thus far?

The Malfoy's are holding a funeral an hour earlier on the same day. I'm afraid I would not be able to choose a muggle's wedding over such an event as important as this.
